Eloise decided she wanted to author a second recipe book. This book was to be about seafood.
Having worked together on her previous book the real food for kids cookbook last year, this was a pretty easy project. We had already figured out our workflow and the way that we liked to work together.
Using some of the same design choices but developing others we decided to publish a book and a slightly different format to the usual recipe books available. We used beautifully textured matte art paper for the pages. It was a softcover book but the cover was textured in the whole book had a beautiful wraparound photograph that Ellio had taken from the tessellated pavement's in Tasmania.
Ellie had been studying photography all year and as a result the images we were using where excellent and didn't require much editing or optimising at all.
Since being published this book has been selling like hot cakes (hot crab cakes – pardon the pun).
It really is a beautiful book and the economical design choices we made increased the books viability and ultimately profitability for Ellie.
